National Ecumenical Officers (NEOs) are key to the support of local ecumenism (churches working together locally). They are appointed by a number of CTE’s national Member Churches to have responsibility for ecumenical relationships – helping their own church tradition to work ecumenically, and representing their church in national ecumenical settings. In smaller church denominations someone (often the General Secretary) will have ecumenical relations as part of a wider role.
CTE facilitates meetings of the NEOs. All CTE’s Member Churches are invited to send someone to these meetings – please contact CTE’s General Secretary for further information.
The NEOs from churches which appoint Denominational Ecumenical Officers work together with CTE to deliver the annual training course, and are a huge support to County Ecumenical Officers.
