CTE Forum 2022 launches

As bookings open for next year's event, read more about the Forum's theme Reconciling Hope – a broken Church for a broken world.

Bringing together over three hundred representatives of Member Churches, Intermediate Bodies, Co-ordinating Groups and Bodies in Association, CTE’s Forum is the broadest ecumenical gathering of Christians in England.

Forum happens every three years, but was delayed from 2021 by the pandemic. It will now take place from teatime on Monday 14 March to lunchtime on Wednesday 16 March 2022 at The Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire.

The event’s theme is Reconciling Hope – a broken Church for a broken World. This is inspired by ‘And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation’ from 2 Corinthians 5: 19.

As the diverse family of churches across England, we are united in our longing to see the good news of Christ bring hope to a world turned upside down by the Covid pandemic.

Coming together, we will explore how, as Christ’s church, we can unite in:

  • reconciling communities – being good news in fractured communities and society
  • reconciling people with God – bringing the good news (evangel) to a disbelieving world
  • reconciling people to planet earth – being good news to a world in climate emergency

We recognise that the church is not immune from the brokenness of the world – seen through realities such as racial, economic and climate injustice, and continuing disagreements among churches on a range of issues. Acknowledging this reality, our gathering will explore how, even in its present brokenness, we as the church can bring hope and healing to the hurting places in the world. See the draft programme (as at August 2021)

Forum is an opportunity to be encouraged by the diversity and depth of Christian witness in England, and to be enriched by forging new relationships and connections and listening deeply to one another.

Forum is a delegate conference and therefore not open to all. Find out how you might be able to attend.
