Church leaders from across the traditions joined together to celebrate Dr Anna Krauss taking up her new role.
The service was led by Bishop Tor Berger Jorgensen and hosted by Rev Marjaana Harkonen from the Finnish Church.
CTE President and Moderator of the Free Churches Group, Rev Canon Helen Cameron gave the sermon. She said: “I believe that as she (Anna) holds this role as President of CTE she will be a blessing to each of us and to the church. Anna encouraged us in her first statement as CTE President to be hopeful in our ecumenical journey. Not closed to what is difficult and demanding but hopeful.”
CTE Chair of Trustees, Rowena Loverance, reflected on the difficulties that the Fourth Presidency Group had undergone over the last four years “We come together as a wounded body but a body that seeks to learn. We move forward in hope as Anna reminds us.” This was echoed by Rt Rev George Samiec, who leads the Evangelical Lutheran Church in England. He said “We greet you with trust as you serve us as Group. We are a very diverse group but we follow Jesus together.”
CTE General Secretary Bishop Mike Royal said: “I am particularly excited that there will be a millennial voice within the CTE Presidency. Anna, you are a significant woman in ministry and you have much to offer theologically.”
