ABBEY PROGRAMME COORDINATOR – View Job Description
As Programme Coordinator you will plan and deliver programme weeks throughout the season. These will include innovative events and activities which challenge and affirm participants of all ages while reflecting the goals, actions, and concerns of the Iona Community.
This post is offered on a one-year basis. The post can be either residential, or a non-residential island-based post.
ABBEY MUSICIAN – View Job Description
As Musician, you will provide a variety of music, such as congregational songs, appropriate for Iona Abbey’s twice-daily public worship services and will support the Abbey centre’s visitor programmes. You will have the opportunity to introduce the Iona Community’s musical culture in collaboration with Glasgow-based Wild Goose Resource Group (WGRG).
This post is offered on a seasonal basis (9 months) although shorter lengths of contract might be considered. The post can be either residential, or a non-residential island-based post.
ABBEY HOUSEKEEPER – View Job Description
As Housekeeper you would work alongside your team to create hospitable spaces and support them in this work. You would also be responsible for the management of the team. Housekeeping is often seen as a “background” role, but due to the way the Community works, the Housekeeping Team are often the go-to people for questions from guests.
This post is offered on a seasonal basis (10 months) but due to a staffing review in our islands’ centres, we may be able to offer a longer contract term. The post can be either residential, or a non-residential island based post.
ABBEY DEPUTY HOUSEKEEPER – View Job Description
As Deputy Housekeeper you would work closely as part of the Housekeeping Team to ensure that the guest accommodation and common areas of the properties on Iona, are kept clean and tidy to a high standard at all times. In the absence of the Housekeeper you would deputise in many aspects of their role. You would have guest-facing interaction as, due to the way the Community works, the Housekeeping Team are regularly front and centre in interactions with our guests.
