Uniting young believers

Courtney-Ann from the Church of God of Prophecy in Croydon reflects on a gathering of young Christians from across CTE's Member Churches.

On July 22, 2026, young Christians from across various churches were warmly invited to the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain for an evening reception. Leaders including Churches Together in England General Secretary Bishop Mike Royal, Minister Shermara Hoyte and His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas shared encouraging words, followed by an inspiring tour of the Greek Orthodox Chapel of the Transfiguration of Christ the Saviour.

It was a time to connect, discuss and share with many young Christians, on their faith journey with Christ, all being accompanied by excellent traditional Greek food and live music. Hearing from youth from across the nation and various backgrounds, showcased the diverse ways in which God is worshipped not only throughout the United Kingdom, but across the world. The vibrancy among those in the room was evident and our minds and hearts were eager to connect and simply soak up what the evening had to offer.

It is clear that God is removing the barriers that once kept us segregated. He is uniting us not as individual denominations, not as a people with long-held traditions, but He is simply bringing us together as His church.

It was once said that the United Kingdom will either be blood soaked or blood washed, and this is heavily influenced by the strength of the church, so gatherings such as this will be an effective approach in uniting young believers.

It has also been said that the youth are the next generation, but we dare to say that we are the ‘now’ generation.

Rather than buckling under the weight of responsibility, due to a lack of preparedness, it is important for youth to continue to be built up, so they may better carry the mantle declared by God.

The earth still groans for the full revelation of the sons of God (Romans 8:19) so:

  • May the ripple effect of this evening be manifested in its due time.
  • May His glory will be seen anew in the United Kingdom.
  • May He bring the revival we pray for.
  • May this be the beginning of something far more extensive than we could have ever anticipated!

Thank you for the opportunity!
