Receiving Christ in Holy Meals – thinking afresh about Eucharistic celebrations

A Society for Ecumenical Studies webinar on Thursday 24 October at 7.30pm.

The holy meal at the heart of Christianity has not infrequently been a source of contention among Christians. This webinar seeks to step behind the discussions and to explore the shared experience of meeting Jesus together in this meal, considering not just how he comes to be present with us but how we come to be present with him.

Speakers:

Dr Racheal Adebayo – A minister in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Amazing Grace Parish, Leicester). As a theological educator, Racheal was involved in training pastors from different denominations for the church ministry as well as mentoring pastors’ wives for pastoral ministry in one of the largest evangelical denominations in Nigeria, the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA).

Fr Dominic Robinson, SJ – A member of the Department of Dialogue and Unity Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England & Wales, Parish Priest at Farm Street Church, London, Lecturer in Theology at St Mary’s University, and Chair, Justice & Peace Commission, Diocese of Westminster.

Major Paul Hilditch – A lifelong Salvationist and an officer in The Salvation Army since 1989. He is now on the staff of William Booth College in Denmark Hill, in South London, where he fronts the degree in Christian Theology and Practice.
