Bishop Tedroy Powell, has been re-elected as the Churches Together in England (CTE) President representing the churches in the Pentecostal and Charismatic Forum.
Bishop Tedroy, who is the National Bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy UK, first became a CTE President in Autumn 2021. He will now serve until Autumn 2029.
CTE General Secretary Bishop Mike Royal said: “Huge congratulations to Bishop Tedroy Powell on his re-election as Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches President. He is an experienced leader having been at the helm of Church of God of Prophecy in the UK for many years. His wisdom and foresight will enable him to steer this important group of churches well into the future.”
Bishop Tedroy Powell said: “I am deeply honoured to be re-elected to serve as Pentecostal and Charismatic President for Churches Together in England. This renewed mandate is both humbling and inspiring, affirming my belief that the Holy Spirit is calling us to walk together with renewed unity, courage, and hope.
“Looking ahead to the next four years, my focus for the new term, is to strengthen relationships across our Christian traditions, deepen our shared mission, and create space for the Holy Spirit to lead us into fresh expressions of unity, reconciliation, and public witness.
“Rooted in the prayer of Jesus, “that they may all be one” (John 17:21), informs my commitment to an ecumenism shaped by love, mutual honour, and a united voice for justice, compassion, and spiritual renewal across the nation.”
About Bishop Tedroy
Bishop Tedroy Powell has served as National Bishop of the Church of God of Prophecy (COGOP) UK since 2016. He has been Regional Bishop and Senior Pastor of the House of Bread COGOP for 28 years and has held the role of National Bishop for COGOP Belgium and the Netherlands since 2004.
His ministry is marked by a strong commitment to missions, intentional discipleship, and church planting. He is the co-founder of COGOP UK’s Mission Experience School and the founder of Hillview Community Services, a social enterprise providing educational support within the local community.
A passionate preacher and teacher, Bishop Powell is dedicated to leadership development and delivers a wide range of professional training for pastors, church leaders, management committees, and leaders across parachurch and voluntary sector organisations.
He has been married for 50 years and is blessed with three children and six grandchildren.
