Living Church, exploring God’s gift and calling

A two session webinar in November 2021 with speakers from the International Reformed Anglican Dialogue

A webinar with speakers from the International Reformed-Anglican Dialogue (IRAD)

First Session: Tuesday 2 November, 2.00-3.30pm
Concluding Session: Wednesday 3 November, 10.00-11.30am

This webinar will be a combination of input, breakout groups and plenary sessions, during which the speakers will respond to questions posed in the Zoom chat.

On Tuesday we will unpack the use of the word koinonia, which is often translated as ‘fellowship’ or ‘communion’, with Rev Dr Elizabeth Welch (United Reformed Church in the UK) speaking on the Trinity’s gift of koinonia leading to deeper human relationships.

On Wednesday Rev Canon Helene Steed (The Church of Ireland) will speak on ‘crossing over to the other side: koinonia and mission. Philip Brooks and Callan Slipper (URC and Church of England National Ecumenical Officers) will explore what this means for ecumenism at local and Intermediate level.

The webinar will conclude with a short act of worship.

The event has been organised by Philip Brooks (National Ecumenical Officer for the United Reformed Church), Callan Slipper (National Ecumenical Officer for the Church of England) and Jenny Bond (Churches Together in England’s Principal Officer for Intermediate Ecumenism, Governance Support and Resources). It is based upon the 2020 IRAD report ‘Koinonia: God’s Gift and Calling’

All are welcome to join this webinar though it is especially suitable for church practitioners, particularly Ecumenical Officers.
