“There are moments in life when God feels close, almost tangible, and others when God seems distant, or hidden in the noise of our circumstances. Yet the truth is we are invited to return to God who is always near.” in this beautiful reflection, Doral Hayes, our Principal Officer for Ecumenical Development and Relations at Churches Together in England, shares how God met her in unfamiliar surroundings and helped her recognise His presence in a new way.

Thy Kingdom Come 2026 – Thursday 14 to Sunday 24 May

For this 2026 season of #PrayingTogether, Thy Kingdom Come (TKC) has the theme God With Us. The God who is with us in the everyday – in the joys and sorrows of life (and everything in between) and the One who, through His spirit, longs to reveal Himself to those who do not yet know Him.

With the help of leaders from across the traditions, over the 11 days, TKC will explore a different Bible story each day, which demonstrates God’s transformative presence, power and love at work in the lives of people and communities.

And in the lead up to Thy Kingdom Come, there will be a series of new videos encouraging reflection and prayer together. Churches Together in England is delighted to have been working with Thy Kingdom Come to bring together a range of voices from Pentecostal, Charismatic, Lutheran, Orthodox and Free Church members sharing their personal experiences of feeling God’s presence.

General Secretary of Churches Together in England, Bishop Mike Royal said: “Thy Kingdom Come has galvanised the church to come together in prayer and proclamation in the lead up to Pentecost for many years. In these divisive times, church unity is a key prophetic message for today. TKC had been an effective conduit to demonstrate the unity of the church in the proclamation of the good news of Jesus Christ. Let me encourage you to get involved.”

TKC Resources for 2026

Alongside the videos from ecumenical leaders, there will be other new resources to support both personal and shared prayer for 2026.

This year the Novena has been written by The Archbishop of Canterbury, Sarah Mullally and there is also a new Prayer Journal .

The Digital Detox devotional is also available for both adults and youth people, as well as new episodes of the Cheeky Pandas for children.

What is Thy Kingdom Come?

Thy Kingdom Come, is a global ecumenical prayer movement for evangelisation occurring annually from Ascension to Pentecost. This year this special season of prayer runs from Thursday 14 May to Sunday 24 May 2026.

Since it began, tens of millions of Christians, in dozens of denominations, in almost 90% countries worldwide, have united in prayer so that friends, families and neighbours will come to know the life-transforming love of Jesus Christ. The prayer movement, which initially began as call to prayer from the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Archbishop of York, has grown into a global wave of prayer, with wider ecumenical support from senior church leaders in the UK and beyond, including several present and former CTE Presidents and church leaders within other CTE Member Churches.
