Delivering Amazing Days to Churchdown and Innsworth school children

Cheerful children from Churchdown and Innsworth primary schools have received delivery of the captivating ‘Amazing Days’ Christmas storybook from their local Churches Together group.

Amazing Days: The story of the very first Christmas is a delightful retelling of the Christmas story, produced by the Bible Society with colourful illustrations by Amy Lane and an engaging story by Bob Hartman. The Churches Together in Churchdown and Innsworth team decided this would be a perfect gift for children attending local schools in their suburb of Gloucester: Innsworth Juniors and Infants, St Mary’s Primary, Churchdown Parton Manor and Churchdown Village Juniors and Infants.

Over 1,300 books were hand-delivered by Val Ralston from Churchdown Methodist Church and Matthew Collins from Our Lady’s Catholic church, and were well received by the heads and deputy headteachers of the schools. Teaching staff also received copies and online teaching aids to accompany the books. These included an animated version of the book and an ‘Instant Nativity’ pack, available at biblesociety.org.uk/amazingdays from the publisher Bible Society (one of CTE’s Bodies in Association).
