Churches in Bristol are coming together to respond to the coronavirus situation in their community. Find out more about how they’re showing God’s love in practical ways in their city…
We are very aware of the emerging situation with regards to Coronavirus (COVID-19), which is of course changing on an daily, if not hourly basis. This is a time for us as a church community, along with others across the city, to show a spirit of generosity and kindness. Our continued vision as Bristol Noise charity is to inspire and mobilise volunteers to be ‘showing God’s love in practical ways’.
We are working closely with the Council and other agencies at a city level to shape up a strategic, collaborative approach to responding to need at this time.
Offers of volunteers across the city are increasing, which is wonderful, and we are identifying ways of utilising these generous offers. As you can imagine, there are lots of moving parts in all of this, not least of which is the whole issue of storing, handling and then delivering food to those that need it across the city.
The team in Bristol will be updating their web page with different ways you can give support. On a practical, immediate level, please:
- Pray – we’re sure you’re doing this anyway!
- Volunteer your time with local initiatives – you can sign up on their website to receive more information on how to do this.
- Be generous in supporting the work of food initatives like Foodbanks, FareShare and Feeding Bristol.
- Look out for isolated and vulnerable people in your local community, or in the street where you live.
