Come and lead the team at Camas Outdoor Centre on the Isle of Mull for a life-changing experience!
Working for, or volunteering with, the Iona Community is a wonderful opportunity to make a positive difference in the world. They have forty-five members of staff based in Scotland. The team on Iona includes about fifteen resident staff. Ten staff members work at Camas, on Mull.
Join a close-knit team in a stunning, remote location where you’ll help others connect with nature, themselves and each other. Whether supporting the team or implementing policies to ensure that high standards of safety and the welfare of both staff and guests are maintained, your role at Camas will be filled with purpose and adventure. If you’re looking for a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact in a beautiful, inspiring setting, Camas could be the perfect fit for you!
Camas comprises a core team of both resident staff and volunteers during the guest season. The coordinator oversees the weekly programme’s planning, coordination, and administration and makes sure that all staff and guests are supported and integrated into Camas’ common life. The Coordinator bears the additional duty of ensuring that all safety protocols are in place, and that the well-being of both employees and visitors is prioritised.
This is a developing position in a dynamic environment that calls for adaptability and continuous review of the job description. It is likely that Camas’ management structure will undergo a considerable transformation during this post. The new Coordinator will be involved in this process.
This post is regulated work and as such is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. The post-holder will need to be or to become a member of Scotland’s Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
Due to the nature of this work, it will NOT be possible to consider candidates who do not already have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
