Churches Together in Britain and Ireland (CTBI)
Politics at the Service of the Common Good: This year CTBI is inviting participants to reflect on the question of how “we might be called to engage as Christians with the political realities and processes that shape our society, impacting our own lives and the wellbeing of our communities.” The Lent course has been developed in the context of shared concerns about the increased prevalence of political discourse which is divisive and polarising, which fails to respect the equal worth and dignity of all people, and minimises any sense of common ground or collective responsibility. Act on Poverty
Christian Aid, the Trussell Trust, Church Action on Poverty and the Joint Public Issues Team of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches have released ‘Act on Poverty’ – a six-week resource for church groups to explore the impacts of poverty around the world and in the UK and take action ahead of the General Election. Designed for use during Lent or later in 2024, the resource brings campaigners from the UK and global contexts into dialogue about the differences and similarities between their visions for an end to poverty where they are.
Association of Interchurch Families
This 2024 mini Lent course reflects on the beauty of diversity within interchurch families. Just as each member brings their unique gifts and perspectives, so do different denominations within the Christian faith. Download the course information.

Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales
We Dare To Say is a resource for faith-sharing groups on The Lord’s Prayer. Cardinal Vincent Nichols, Archbishop of Westminster and CTE President said “Pope Francis has asked us, as part of our preparation for the Holy Year in 2025, to make this year into a time for refreshing our prayer, and especially our appreciation and use of the Our Father. Clewer Initiative and the World Council of Churches
True Freedom: The six-week course draws on themes from the book of Galatians, and encourages individuals and churches to respond to modern slavery in their communities. The resource is part of an ongoing collaboration, which began in March 2020, between the World Council of Churches (WCC) and The Clewer Initiative. Church of England
The Church of England’s Lent theme for 2024 is Watch and Pray: Wisdom and hope for Lent and life. “This Lent all of us are encouraged to draw on the wisdom of Black Spirituality, particularly the practice of “tarrying” (waiting) as a community to draw closer to Jesus and to each other. Combining exuberant singing, fervent prayer and quiet lament, such services typically take place at night and last somewhat longer than the “one hour” Jesus asked of those first followers.” Explore the resources…
Fellowship of Reconciliation
In a world that talks of war, what does it mean to be active for peace? Join the Fellowship of Reconciliation’s five part online Lent course to explore the layers for peace and discover for yourself what you are called to do for peace in the coming months. The course will run twice a week, using the same material, once in the day and once in the evening. Attendance is free. Evenings Tuesday, 7.30pm starting on 20th February; in the daytime: Thursday, 10.30am starting on 22nd February. Book your place.
