Each year the annual Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is one of the most important celebrations of grass-roots ecumenism across England. Hundreds of Churches Together groups and local networks meet, eat and pray together.
This year the theme was ‘Be-Longing: Praying for Unity amidst Injustice’. The CTBI writers’ group sought to promote racial justice. They were guided by materials from the Minneapolis churches and also focused attention on the 30th anniversary of the murder of Stephen Lawrence.
Thank you to everyone who coordinated events between 18 and 25 January. Here is a selection of images from events in which CTE was involved and beyond.

Made in God’s image – a sermon
Thank you to Rev Michael Page (Park Road Baptist Church, Peterborough) from Churches Together in Central Peterborough for sharing his WPCU sermon.
Rev Michael shares his own family’s dramatic journey alongside his reflection that Christian organisations are not competitors but comrades.
“If we love our neighbours as ourselves then we all have a part to play in overcoming prejudice of any and every kind, wherever we find it. Don’t be afraid to speak out whenever you see it.”
