Ian Taylor has succeeded Roger Allen as the Enabler of Mission and Unity with Together 4 Bristol (the city’s intermediate body, also known as Churches Together in Greater Bristol).
Ian joins Churches Together following four years serving as the Operations Director at St Michael’s Stoke Gifford. He has spent 15 years in the South West and the last nine years in Bristol, serving at Christ Church Clifton and St Michael’s, prior to that he attended Thornbury Baptist.
Ian originally comes from Yorkshire and has a long history of working across different church groups in that area. He has organised and led ecumenical marches of witness in Barnsley, held venue leading roles with Billy Graham missions and as an Evangelical Charismatic Church leader (Reachout Christian Fellowship), brought together Brian Quarr (AOG) and Rev. Mike Godfrey to establish the Doncaster Ministers Prayer fellowship (1998). This still meets today and manages joint events in Doncaster.
His eclectic career has also included the roles of Senior Buyer at the Coop in Manchester, Secondary School leadership in Gloucester and Leeds where he enjoyed a good working relationship with Leeds Faith in Schools.
Ian trained for Ministry at Mattersey Hall and holds a 2:1 in Biblical Theology awarded by Sheffield University.
Roger Allen will continue to work with Together 4 Bristol networking across the spheres of life, because “we long to see every Christian released to be good news in the whole of life in the Bristol region: in Arts, Business and Workplace, Education, Family, Health, Media, Politics and Social Action and Sport”.
