All social action initiatives have some effect on church growth, some a lot more than others.

In February 2013, we published the National Church and Social Action Survey Results 2012.

One of the questions, which was not reported on in the above research was:
“Thinking of organised activities of your Church in the local community in the last 12 months, how do your rate their effectiveness in seeing people added to the church?”

We have taken some time to think about the response to the question and have published the results on the Jubilee+ website. We hope these inform you as seek to reach your community with good news.

All social action initiatives have some effect on church growth, some a lot more than others.

However, some churches running the same social initiative see poor effect on church growth; some see an excellent effect. What could be the reasons for this?

What are the factors? Evangelistic gifting? Length of contact with people who are served by the social action? Size of church? Church location, e.g. inner city?
