NEOs are appointed by a number of CTE’s national Member Churches to have responsibility for ecumenical relationships – helping their own church tradition to work ecumenically, and representing their church in national ecumenical settings. In smaller church denominations someone (often the General Secretary) will have ecumenical relations as part of a wider role.
